Cruze P1101 with an oil leak: GM’s LE2 pressure and PCV correction
The short answer
P1101P1101 is GM’s “Intake Air Flow System Performance” code: the intake airflow needs diagnosis.
On the 2016–2019 LE2 Cruze, GM identifies a blocked PCV orifice as a possible cause of excessive crankcase pressure and crankshaft oil leakage. The bulletin directs pressure diagnosis, followed by inspection of the orifice and camshaft-cover passages and the required orifice/gasket repair.

The normal LE2 pressure range
GM specifies −1 to −5 inH₂O at hot idle with the transmission in Park. A reading above 0 inH₂O identifies a positive-pressure concern that needs further investigation. The measurement is in inches of water and should be recorded with the test conditions.
The same bulletin uses this normal range for L3A, LFV and LYX applications. The earlier LUJ/LUV engine family has a different reference, shown in the engine-matching guide.

What the inspection and correction cover
20-NA-047 directs the technician to check intake restrictions such as debris, water/ice blockage or a kinked PCV tube. It then describes inspection of the PCV orifice and camshaft-cover passages. The orifice is replaced as necessary together with the camshaft-cover gaskets, and blocked passages are addressed.
A pressure reading already within the specified range returns diagnosis to the oil-leak or P1101 service path. That step keeps the repair tied to the actual cause of the leak.

How this changes an oil-seal estimate

The useful record separates where oil escapes from what the pressure test establishes. A seal repair may address the leak location; the accompanying pressure finding tells the technician whether another condition also needs correction. Record the leak location, pressure, units and engine RPO together.
The January 2023 bulletin replaces PIP5417C. Current VIN-specific service information should confirm the repair before work, especially after a prior cover or seal repair.
