Coverage and bulletin details

Both Equinox guides are shared with the GMC Terrain, because GM’s documents list the two vehicles together with the 1.5L LYX. The reduced engine power guide follows bulletin 22-NA-224, which names a charge air cooler outlet tube separated from the throttle body. The P1101 guide sets that bulletin beside two more: 20-NA-047, on high crankcase pressure from a plugged PCV orifice, and preliminary information PIP5402D, on a damaged or missing coupler O-ring.

P0299 is GM’s engine underboost code. On this engine, 22-NA-224 lists it with P0101, P0172, P0506 and P1101 as codes that may set with reduced power. P1101 with a crankshaft oil leak points to 20-NA-047 and a crankcase pressure test instead.

Before parts are ordered, note the limit in 22-NA-224: the throttle body and mass airflow sensor are replaced only if damaged or found to be the cause of the code. Year matters as well. PIP5402D applies to 2018–2019 only and is the one document that also lists the 2.0L LTG.
